Viserys is depicted as arrogant, entitled, and consumed by his desire to reclaim power. He is willing to manipulate and abuse those around him, including his sister Daenerys, whom he plans to marry off in exchange for an army to retake the throne. Viserys's obsession with reclaiming his birthright ultimately leads to his downfall. He is killed by Khal Drogo, the Dothraki warlord he hoped would help him conquer Westeros, when he becomes too demanding and disrespectful towards Daenerys.
