About the Character
Carnage is a Marvel Comics supervillain and one of the most dangerous enemies of Spider-Man. He was created by writer David Michelinie and artist Mark Bagley and first appeared in 1992. Carnage is the alter ego of Cletus Kasady, a psychotic serial killer who bonds with a symbiotic alien organism known as the Carnage symbiote. Unlike Spider-Man's symbiote, which is able to communicate with its host and has some degree of empathy, the Carnage symbiote is a pure monster with no morals or restraint. It enhances Cletus Kasady's already violent tendencies, giving him incredible strength, agility, and the ability to shape-shift his limbs into weapons. Carnage is also able to create offspring symbiotes, which he has used to create his own army of superpowered minions. Over the years, Carnage has clashed with Spider-Man and other superheroes in the Marvel universe, often causing chaos and destruction in his wake.
